Azure Storage Accounts and diagnostics.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

What about 4-5 times? Think that’s still definitely me I’m afraid.

I hit a problem today where my Azure serviceconfiguration clearly stated the AccountName (here “ABC”)

 <Setting name=”Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Plugins.Diagnostics.ConnectionString” value=”DefaultEndpointsProtocol=https;AccountName=ABC;AccountKey=XXXX/>

Problem is, I was deploying from within Visual Studio 2010, and if you go into Advanced Settings in the publish screen it turns out you can override this. Somehow it had got configured with a setting from another project I’d been recently working on.

Anyways, word to the wise..   Check Visual Studio!!
